RFK Jr. has long been a powerful advocate for the Indigenous people of America – not just in the US but in Canada and Latin America as well! Standing up for Native Americans in treaty negotiations, courtrooms and in protests such as those at Standing Rock – he’s played critical roles in protecting tribal lands and traditions from the the avaricious aggressions of mining, oil, hydroelectric and timber industries.

During his childhood RFK Jr. accompanied his father – RFK Sr. on his 1968 Presidential campaign through Native reservations around the US. Witnessing his father’s disgust at the mistreatment and impoverished living conditions of our nation’s original peoples, Bobby has long viewed “the poverty and suffering in Indian Country as our country’s greatest shame”, and feels that “the federal government’s unfair dealings and broken treaties with the tribal nations are our nation’s original sin.”

“These kinds of conditions can not be permitted to exist in the United States.”

      - Robert F Kennedy (Sr.) upon witnessing the impoverished circumstances of the indigenous peoples on the Pine Ridge Reservation.

The New Kennedy Administration will take critical steps to reverse many of the wrongs done to Indigenous Americans.  Betrayed treaties will be reassessed and honored in both the spirit and letter of the law, as “the highest law of the land: documents made between sovereign nations."

The appropriateness and possibility of the return of illegally taken lands and resources will become top matters of national concern. The restoration and renewal of indigenous traditions will be encouraged and supported. Sacred sites and practices will be protected, and Tribal sovereignty and self-determination recognized and esteemed.

Beyond addressing the many well-established injustices committed against indigenous North Americans RFK Jr’s Presidency will also empower him to work together with Native leaders to better understand and address their current challenges and dilemmas.  Together with indigenous vision-setters he'll work to craft the best possible solutions, and then steer the power of the federal government to help redeem and restore the lives of these peoples whom it has long neglected and abused

Long used as a militaristic plaything by covert empire-builders in democracy-undermining agencies such as the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the transnational financial institutions and military-industrial mega-corporations that they serve, the land and people of the United States now finds themselves impoverished both financially and in spirit.

The Kennedy Campaign expresses our current Geo-political situation with a great metaphor: the health of a nation is much like that of a human body: When a body is healthy it can use its energy expansively – interacting with the outside world – much as a healthy nation is able to expand its interactions with other nations. Conversely a sick body gets to the point where it must withdraw its energies from its extremities and bring them back within to its core, its innermost vital organs – in order to heal and repair itself.

“It is the duty of the federal government to do all that it can to create a better life for all Americans—especially those who have been reprehensibly neglected. We will seek to restore trust between Native Americans and the federal government and we will work hard to deserve it. We believe it is not enough to apologize for—or even attempt to rectify—past injustices; we need to prevent current and future injustices from occurring.”
